Our
Changing Waste
site is an industrial processor of waste located in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is designed to handle a wide range of waste feedstocks. Through a variety of different processes that utilise the waste as a raw material to create a blend for anaerobic digestion, which in turn is used to generate electricity and gas that is 100% renewable and exported to the national grid.

Class 1 Driver

Purpose of the role:
To ensure the safe transportation of deliveries and collections.
Key areas of role responsibility:
Adhere to current transport legislation.
Supervising or assisting in the loading and unloading of goods.
Following traffic reports and changing your route if necessary
Completing delivery paperwork and legal documentation to the required standard.
Drive efficiently and direct from point to point
Represent the company at all times in a professional manner
Ensure all aspects safety and customer site rules are adhered to.
Responsible for the security of any products carried whilst in transit
Ensuring all delivery and collection notes and paperwork are correct
Provide accurate paperwork relevant to debriefing of allocated jobs
Ensuring all transport legislation including driver's hours and vehicle defect reporting is adhered to
Provide an exceptional standard of service to our customers
To adopt a proactive approach to ensure all issues concerns and improvements are communicated to all parties in a timely manner
To carry out any other reasonable request as detailed by the Transport Office
Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles and wear uniform and any PPE provided
Follow company procedures
Report and support in accidents, incidents and near miss investigations by providing statements and evidence where required
Ensure accidents, incidents and near miss reporting procedures are understood and implemented
Follow and adhere to risk assessment controls and PPE requirements
Adhere to H&S criteria contained within the company SOP's, Risk Assessments, Policies and Procedures, in accordance with the appropriate H&S legislative elements for the role
Set a personal example with regard to Health & Safety matters, promoting the safety culture through observations, site standards and workplace safety
This role requires flexibility and will involve nights out. The successful applicant will be able to, and be expected to work up to the legal permissible drivers hours. In return, the company is offering a generous hourly pay rate of 17.20, supplemental pay for nights out, a bonus for full weekend working, SNAP account for parking.
The successful candidate will have experience with vacuum tankers, curtain siders and bulkers; a clean C+E licence' digital tacho card; CPC licence; minimum of 2 years commercial LGV driving experience.
