Duties

Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations. Load and Unload construction plant (Plant tickets preferred) Transport goods to various locations, ensuring timely delivery according to the schedule. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload cargo, securing it properly for transport, particularly when using flatbed configurations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status and any potential delays. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence with appropriate classifications for commercial driving. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods. Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently is an advantage. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism on the road.
