We are looking for a versatile and proactive individual to join our team at Lester Cladding. This is a varied role combining Class 2 driving with on-site operations and warehouse-based fabrication work. No two days will be the same, you'll work across multiple areas of the business, ensuring smooth delivery operations, safe site support, and efficient fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Driving (Class 2 Vehicle Duties)
Operate 7.5 tonne flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in line with all road safety regulations and company policies.
Deliver materials to site efficiently and punctually across designated routes.
Carry out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the vehicle is safe and roadworthy.
Secure loads correctly to prevent movement or damage during transit.
Follow all traffic laws, company transport procedures, and health & safety guidelines at all times.
Report any vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, or incidents promptly to management.
2. Site Work
a) Offloading Deliveries
Offload deliveries safely using telehandlers and associated plant.
Ensure materials are placed in designated locations following site instructions.
Work safely around other site personnel, vehicles, and equipment.
b) Transporting Goods Around Site
Operate telehandlers and other site machinery to move materials and equipment as required.
Assist site teams with logistical support to keep operations running smoothly.
Maintain high awareness of site safety rules and surroundings.
c) Slinger/Signaller Duties
Act as a Slinger/Signaller during crane lifting operations.
Communicate clearly with crane operators and site teams to ensure safe lifting practices.
Assist with preparing loads for lifting and ensuring compliance with lifting plans.
3. Warehouse & Fabrication Work
Support the fabrication team by cutting and folding light sheet metal.
Operate guillotines, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment (training provided where necessary).
Assist with general warehouse duties including material handling, stock organisation, and cleanliness.
Follow all workshop safety procedures and maintain equipment where required.
What We're Looking For
Valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
Experience with telehandlers (CPCS/NPORS certification preferred).
Slinger/Signaller certification, or willingness to undertake training.
Experience in construction, cladding, logistics, or sheet-metal fabrication is advantageous.
A flexible, hands-on attitude with the ability to work across multiple teams.
Strong commitment to safe working practices.
