Location:

Based from Essex, with occasional travel to Hook (Hampshire) or Corby (Northamptonshire)

Phoenix Environmental is a specialist provider of healthcare waste management services across the UK. We work with care homes, medical facilities, and commercial businesses to deliver reliable, compliant, and professional waste solutions.

We are now expanding our refuse collection operations and are looking for an experienced and reliable Class 2 HGV Driver to join us on a self-employed, part-time basis (3 weekdays per week - specific days negotiable).

About the Role:

Youwill operate a modern, high-spec 26-tonne Dennis refuse collection vehicle, fitted with on-board weighing systems. Your duties will include:

Collecting offensive waste from our client's sites*
Accurately logging bin weights and lifts using our in-house tablet-based system*
Safely transporting and tipping waste at approved disposal sites*
Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting defects in line with company procedures*
Liaising with the operations team to ensure route compliance and service quality*

Working Arrangements:

The role is part-time, working three agreed weekdays per week You will be based at our Essex depot, but may occasionally be required to move the vehicle to or from our sites in Hook or Corby Start and finish times may vary depending on the daily route and disposal destination As our new vehicle-led collection model grows, route coverage and consistency will increase

What We're Looking For:

A qualified Class 2 (Category C) HGV driver CPC and digital tachograph card (required) Previous experience operating dustcarts or waste vehicles preferred, but not essential Ability to confidently use mobile devices or tablets for route logging A professional, courteous attitude towards clients and colleagues Willingness to work flexibly and independently as part of a growing operation
