We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge, the ability to use hand and power tools, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Duties
Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Conduct detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
Use diagnostic equipment and hand tools to identify faults and recommend necessary repairs.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and services performed.
Communicate findings clearly to customers and provide advice on necessary actions.
Ensure the workshop is kept clean, organised, and safe at all times.
Collaborate with other team members to enhance service efficiency.
Experience
Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections and repairs.
Previous experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
