Duties

Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed/fridge lorries, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies. Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours. Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured properly during transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with legal requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and warehouse personnel regarding delivery status or any delays. Assist with warehouse tasks when required, including inventory management and organising goods for dispatch.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver or similar role. Strong driving skills with a valid driver licence and relevant certifications. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues. Experience operating flatbed lorries or specialised vehicles is desirable. Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, team members, and dispatchers. Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding loading procedures and inventory management. Ability to plan routes effectively and adapt to changing schedules or road conditions. This position requires a dedicated individual committed to safety, punctuality, and delivering exceptional service across all transportation tasks.
