About the role

Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the classes ensuring equality of opportunity for all. Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct. Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher's professional position. Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff and external agencies in the best interests of pupils. Act within the statutory frameworks, which set out their professional duties and responsibilities and in line with the duties outlined in the current School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document and Teacher Standards (2012). Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.

Fixed term contract for 12 months, 13 hours per week (0.4 FTE), 52.143 weeks paid per annum

About our Academy

At Quay Academy communication with parents, carers and the community is very important to us. We aim to give children a well-rounded educational experience. As well as a broad and diverse curriculum we also have a range of extra-curricular clubs and a residential trips for pupils in Year 6.


We work tirelessly to develop the academic aspects of education, but also on the spiritual, moral and emotional development of all the children in our care. That is why we are so proud that we are a Values School.

Who we are looking for

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Evidence of sustained participation in INSET/CPD Experience teaching in key stage 1 Honours degree related to Primary Education or a curriculum subject would be desireable An inspirational teacher with excellent subject knowledge and the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons which enthuse and motivate learners Has a passion for raising attainment and expectations Has high expectations and is committed to raising standards Has an understanding of target setting with pupils Is able to effectively use the environment to support learning and impact on standards Uses ICT as a key tool for planning, teaching and learning Has excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills, verbal and written, both inside and outside the classroom Is highly motivated, enthusiastic and supportive team player who is willing to learn and share ideas Will support the school's ethos and work effectively as part of our hardworking team Has an understanding of supporting children on the SEN code of practice Has good attendance and punctuality record Is committed to safeguarding children
