Classroom Maths and English Assistant

is required at Kumon Slough West Centre.

Kumon Slough West is now recruiting part-time classroom Maths and English assistants. We are looking for hard-working, enthusiastic, organised and reliable assistants to work with our students in the Kumon Slough West study centre. The role involves:

Observing and guiding early learner and new students during class

Helping students with Maths and English

To help set up and clear away the space before and after class

To accurately mark and record students' work

To ensure students work effectively

To supervise specific student activities eg listening to and assessing reading

To liaise with/keep good working relationships with parents eg take/give messages

To prepare students' work

To update student attendance register

To attend training and meetings as required

To carry out all reasonable duties as and when requested by the Instructor

To adhere to all Kumon Educational UK & Ireland's policies and/or procedure

Classes run from 3.15pm to 6.15pm on Tuesday and Thursday

. You must be able to work both days. Classes are open all year except for a two week break at Xmas, Easter and in the summer, so you will sometimes be expected to work during school holidays. This is a part-time role. Training will sometimes be required outside of class hours. The timing of this will be at a mutually agreed time and you will be paid according to age and experience and for the hours you work. You will be required to sign a contract and terms and conditions which include confidentiality clauses. You will also be required to undergo a DBS check, paid partly by the employer. The successful applicant must have:

Ability to demonstrate attention to detail in marking work.

Ability to understand and implement marking and recording processes.

Willingness and ability to attend training sessions, and to pick up new concepts and processes easily.

You will be expected to help students with their Kumon Maths and will undertake a written Maths test at the interview.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 7.55-12.50 per hour
