Job Summary

We are looking for a Kitchen Porter who takes pride in maintaining the very highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and attention to detail. This role is mainly kitchen-based, with one shift each week dedicated to cleaning the wider venue.

Main Purpose of the Role

Support the kitchen team by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation. Assist with food preparation. Carry out a weekly venue cleaning shift to ensure the bar, dining rooms, and facilities are kept spotless.

Kitchen Porter Duties (Main Role)

Wash and sanitise dishes, pots, pans, and kitchenware to the highest standard. Keep all kitchen surfaces, floors, stoves, ovens, fridges, and freezers meticulously clean. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries; rotate stock using FIFO. Maintain tidy and organised prep areas; assist chefs with basic food preparation. Follow strict hygiene and safety standards (including HACCP).

Venue Cleaning Duties (1 shift per week)

Deep clean public areas, toilets, and staff facilities. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors with care and thoroughness. Clean tables, chairs, fixtures, mirrors, and glass surfaces to a spotless finish.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is essential. High attention to detail and a commitment to exceptional cleanliness (essential). Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices is preferred. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration within the hospitality sector. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.
