Job description
We are looking for 2 Cleaning Assistants join our team on a part-time (15h hours) permanent basis, working at our Craiglockhart campus.
2pm to 5pm Monday to Friday (including non-term time) OR
5pm to 8pm Monday to Friday (including non-term time)

The Role
The role of Cleaning Assistant is to provide a clean and safe work environment for students, staff and visitors to the university.
Cleaning Assistants will be expected to work across all campuses when required.
Daily duties will involve cleaning offices, all kitchen areas, labs, meeting rooms, stairways, toilets, showers etc. You will ensure that set guidelines are followed and all statutory obligations regarding the use of chemicals, manual handling and working with machinery are adhered to.
What we'll need from you
We are looking for someone who can:
Provide an excellent service to a high standard
Work on own initiative but also as part of a team
Demonstrate Good communication skills
Desirable attributes:
Manual handling awareness/training
H&S awareness/training
COSHH awareness/training
Experience of working in a cleaning role
Experience of cleaning a large site to a high standard.
Additional Information
The advert will be running on a rolling basis until we find the right candidates for these permanent positions. Interviews will be conducted in mid Jan in the new year, 2026.
