The Barber family have been making cheddar cheese for longer than anyone else worldwide. So, when it comes to combining the finest West Country milk with traditional manufacturing methods to produce award-winning cheese, we'd like to think that we've learnt a thing or two.

We are seeking 2 Cleaning Operatives to assist the Cleaning Supervisor and Assistant Cleaning Supervisor with the general cleaning of all pre-pack and warehouse areas. Adhering to schedules and cleaning plans efficiently and effectively to ensure that all aspects of hygiene and food safety are met.

Monday to Friday - 4:00pm - 8:00 pm

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.44 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Key Responsibilities:

To ensure safe and timely cleaning of all prepack/warehouse areas to agreed standards following the cleaning instructions issued by the Company. Liaise with Cleaning Supervisor or Assistant Cleaning Supervisor as to daily cleaning plans. Work in a safe manner both personally and with other team members ensuring safe working practices and health and safety guidelines are always followed and all other internal policies are adhered to. Carry out any other duties requested from time to time by the Cleaning Supervisor or Assistant Cleaning Supervisor, and to undertake work that you are able to complete as reasonably requested by Cleaning Supervisor or Assistant Cleaning Supervisor. Report any faults/issues with machinery or working equipment to the Cleaning Supervisor or Assistant Cleaning Supervisor, that do not comply to the agreed standards using the cleaning instructions issued by the Company. Ensure correct personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn in high care/low care and warehouse areas. To work within other departments of the business within your level of competence, to meet the needs of the business. To carry out any other work or task determined to be within your level of competence, to meet the needs of the business. Working within all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety. Food safety, Authenticity, Legality and Quality standards.

High care stations

Cleaning of all high care production environment including; floors, walls, ceilings, cutting machines, red trays, windows, shoes, drains, belts, general high care machinery and equipment. Bagging and disposal of floor waste.

Low care stations

Cleaning of all low care prepack environment including; Brushing of floors and walls. Wiping of machinery, curtains, cupboards and cages. Cleaning of tote bins, waste bins, shoes and washrooms.

Warehouse

Ensuring the prepack warehouse is swept and clear of visible debris.
The ideal candidate will work steadily and methodically within the prepack cleaning team to clean down the packing lines so that they are ready for the following days production, therefore strict adherence to hygiene standards together with good attention to detail are essential for this role.
