A Commercial Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across various commercial settings. This includes cleaning office areas, communal spaces, restrooms, kitchens, meeting rooms, corridors, and other high-traffic zones. The role is vital in creating a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for clients, staff, and visitors, while adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and polishing surfaces.
Clean and disinfect washrooms, kitchens, break rooms, and other communal areas.
Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet paper, hand towels, and sanitiser.
Remove waste and recyclables, ensuring correct disposal and segregation.
Clean windows, doors, and glass partitions (internal and external, where required).
Ensure all cleaning tasks are carried out to the required standards and schedules.
Follow colour coding and cleaning protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, carpet extractors, and steam cleaners (after appropriate training).
Secure premises after cleaning (turning off lights, locking doors, setting alarms).
Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order and report faults or replacements to the supervisor.
Follow COSHH guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and materials.
Adhere to company policies, site-specific instructions, and Health & Safety procedures.
Report maintenance or security issues identified during duties.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications
Previous commercial or industrial cleaning experience.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
COSHH training or willingness to complete training.
Basic Health & Safety awareness or certification.
Experience using floor cleaning machines (desirable but not essential).
Working Conditions
Start time - 16.30pm working till 20.30pm Monday to Friday, Plus work 1 Saturday for 2 hours , every fortnight .
Work may involve standing, bending, lifting, or working with chemicals.
Uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
May involve working independently , two cleaning staff will be onsite at the same times .
