We're excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a warm, enthusiastic, and passionate Client Care Advisor to join our supportive and friendly team at Newton Abbot Vets for Pets. This is a part-time role working 106.5 hours across a 4-week rota, including regular weekends and bank holidays.
We are a busy, family-owned practice with a close-knit team made up of 5 Client Care Advisors, 5 Vets, 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), 2 Veterinary Care Assistants (VCAs) and a Practice Manager.
Our reception team is at the heart of the practice, ensuring every client and pet receives an exceptional experience. You'll be the friendly first point of contact, supporting clients with compassion, professionalism, and care, while working closely with our clinical team.
What You'll Do
Be the first point of contact for all clients, greeting them warmly and ensuring they feel supported throughout their visit.
Provide outstanding customer service, always acting with empathy, attentiveness, and urgency.
Confidently manage payments, bookings, and financial discussions.
Communicate clearly and effectively, passing on crucial information from the veterinary team about treatments, prescriptions, and care plans.
Handle phone and digital enquiries with accuracy and professionalism.
Keep accurate records by entering information into our systems (appointments, animal weights, prescriptions, etc.).
Assist with daily reception operations such as scanning documents, liaising with referral practices, and ensuring the reception area is clean and welcoming.
Cash handling, daily reconciliations, and banking duties.
Work flexibly, covering colleagues' annual leave and absence where needed.
Stay calm and proactive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.

The Details
Hours: 106.5 hours over 4 weeks (rota includes weekends, evenings, and bank holidays).
Rotas: Issued 4 weeks in advance; flexibility is required for cover and occasional short-notice changes.
