Client Construction Manager

Job Description

Come and help us build our first PassivHaus certified building.

From our iconic, Grade I Listed building in St Pancras, London to our 43 acre, ex-Military campus near Wetherby, North Yorkshire, the British Library property portfolio is large, impressive and varied. We have a unique and wonderful set of existing buildings, with a vision for a sustainable future.

Having completed a series of building consolidations over the past 15 years, our new Knowledge Matters strategy to 2030 includes a major new storage building at Boston Spa and renewal of staff facilities; a major extension of our public space in St Pancras; and the potential for a new presence in Leeds.

We have built two very large automated book storage buildings at our Boston Spa site. Our challenge is to make the next one as sustainable as possible, as a major contribution to our journey to Net Zero.

  • Working in partnership with the Programme Delivery Manager, deputise for the Construction Project SRO (within delegated authority) with a focus on technical construction (building fabric and MEP), construction quality, and automation interfaces.
