We are now looking for a bright, enthusiastic Client Onboarding & AML Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to start or develop a career in compliance within property law, supporting our fee earners and helping us deliver a seamless onboarding experience for our clients.
The candidate will play a key role in supporting the fee earners and will ideally have experience as a legal assistant or secretary in a conveyancing/residential property department or have experience in legal compliance.
We are looking for an efficient, quick learner who would be organised and have a genuine interest in residential property law and compliance.
The candidate will be a team player and need good communication and IT skills as they will be liaising with clients directly often to obtain sensitive information. Experience with a case management system and accounting systems would be an advantage.

Job Title: Client Onboarding & AML Assistant
Salary: Dependent on experience
Location: Turkey Mill Business Park, Maidstone
Working Hours: 9:00-5:00pm Monday to Friday (one hour for lunch)
Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays

Principal Responsibilities:
File Opening.
Preparation of Client Care letters and terms of business.
Managing the client onboarding process
Conducting AML/KYC checks
Obtaining and reviewing source of funds and source of wealth documentation.
Conducting enhanced due diligence where transactions or clients pose higher risk.
Generally liaising with clients to obtain required information.
Maintaining accurate records of AML and Source of Funds checks for audit and regulatory purposes.
Obtaining Land Registry office copies.
Answering the telephone and assisting with enquiries.
Opening and scanning the post (we work paperless!).
Post Office duties.
Filing.
Stationary orders and supplies.
Miscellaneous administrative tasks to support the fee earners and clients.
File closing.
Supporting fee earners by ensuring compliance processes are followed throughout each matter.
Person Specification:
Organised, efficient, enthusiastic, reliable and a quick learner.
Good time management skills and the ability to organise your time and caseload.
A good eye for detail, presentation and overall high work standards.
A strong team player with excellent communication skills, a friendly approach and who is comfortable liaising directly with clients.
Diligent and thorough with an eye for detail.
Ability to work on own initiative and be proactive.
Smart appearance in keeping with professional environment
A genuine interest in property law and compliance and in developing new skills and expertise.
Client focused.
Key Qualifications:
Experienced in legal, financial, or compliance administration; prior experience in AML, KYC, or onboarding is advantageous but not essential.
Confident using IT systems with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.; experience with case management, compliance platforms, or accounting systems is a plus.
A minimum of 6 months experience working as a legal assistant or in compliance administration.
Experience in an office environment.
