This is an exciting opportunity for a registered health professional to join the Patient Equipment Service. This is a friendly and professional team responsible for predominantly beds and mattresses for patients both in hospital and their own homes. The successful candidate will develop expert knowledge in relation to patient equipment, assess referrals from clinical colleagues, deliver training, undertake joint assessments for more complex patient needs and support the management of the contracted supplier.
Appointment to this post may also be offered as a development role under Annex 21 and an outline competency framework is available on request (to be finalised with the successful candidate). If appointment is made under Annex 21, the salary would be paid at 75% with the intention that the competency framework would be satisfactorily completed with 12 months at which time the pay would be uplifted to 100%. The post holder will work closely with key colleagues to develop the service to optimise efficiency, effectiveness and responsiveness, and to develop and implement new initiatives to improve qualit y including the development of training materials to increase the knowledge of clinical colleagues in relation to the monitoring and/or use of patient equipment.
You will be responsible for the day to day management of the Patient Equipment service providing specialist advice to, and assessment of referrals from, clinical colleagues to support effective and good quality patient care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
