An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who is keen to develop their knowledge and skills to join our friendly and busy Royle Eye Department.
This position will be working mainly in the Royle Eye Department, but will be expected to assist in covering all Departments within the Outpatients area, as required. The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team where we encourage staff to learn new skills that aid with clinic delivery.
Working under delegation and supervision of a registered Nurse/ Midwife, the Clinical Health Care Support Worker (CHCSW) will undertake defined responsibilities appropriate to their role in the workplace setting.
They will comply with Trust policies, protocols, guidelines, the fifteen standards of the Care Certificate and the national strategy of Compassion in Practice and will ensure safe, compassionate and competent care is delivered to our patients and service users at all times
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, hardworking and professional focussing on the patient experience and care at all times. You must be able to promote the highest standards of customer care in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It is essential that the successful candidate posses excellent communication skills as you are the first point of contact for patients visiting our department. Candidates must also be able to prioritise their workload and manage their time effectively.
You will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the registered nursing team, to ensure a safe and efficient journey for all our patients.
You will be required to act as a chaperone, support medical staff and patients during procedures, clean equipment, prepare clinic rooms and undertake investigations and scans during clinic.
You will be expected to work within ULHT Trust Behaviours framework.
