Job Description

Reporting to the ECS Senior BI Developer, and being responsible for the maintenance and development of clinical information reporting solutions, including:



Develop reports using Power BI

Supporting the ePCR database

The data flow into the database

SQL Server Reporting Services reports

Ad hoc reports using various tools

Maintenance of local reporting tools

Configuration using the Supplier Admin Tool

System access and permissions using the Supplier Admin Tool



This post requires specialist technical knowledge and experience to support and maintain the development of clinical reports and reporting systems, which meet the requirements of the organisation.



Representation of the team, the department, directorate and the Trust at internal and external meetings, ensuring that strategic projects and processes are conducted with due consideration to clinical data, research and audit, and ensuring that strategic decisions with a bearing on the department are communicated appropriately.



Provide feedback to Medical Directorate Managers, other Senior Managers and Directors, identifying issues which affect the use and performance of the Business Intelligence system.



To work closely with the Clinical Information & Records and Research and Audit Teams to manage the flow of clinical data from the patient to the end user, and support the local and national reporting requirements of the Trust. This will include:



Using clinical data, clinical information systems and expert analysis and interpretation to support problem solving and evidence-based decision making.

Working with the Senior ECS BI Developer to support Electronic Care System release processes by running appropriate tests for software and configuration releases, and feeding back issues found to internal groups and system suppliers

Supporting the SQL Server Integration Services package that imports data from the clinical system to the Trust's data warehouse

Administering the clinical database

Support the Trust's information needs through the development of reporting tools

Maintain a good level of risk and governance knowledge and apply this throughout the scope and development of reports / use of data

The Clinical Information and Records Team are responsible for the management of clinical information, clinical systems development and clinical reporting throughout SWASFT.



We are a small, but busy group of information professionals who are responsible for all clinical system development and reporting within the South Western Ambulance Service.
