Avondale Vets in the picturesque market town of Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, is looking for a Clinical Lead Farm Vet to spearhead and develop our farm department--providing outstanding care to clients while building a resilient and forward-thinking team around you.

As Clinical Lead Farm Vet, you'll:





Deliver high-quality clinical care across a range of farm species with a focus on Dairy with some Beef, Sheep and Smallholding work. Take the lead on clinical governance, protocols, and audits. Provide mentorship and professional development for vets, nurses, and support staff. Shape the development of clinical services in partnership with the Practice Director. Manage complex cases and act as a trusted clinical adviser to the team and clients. Drive continuous improvement through performance management and strategic planning. Support recruitment and on-boarding of new team members as the department grows.


You'll play a vital role not only in day-to-day clinical operations but also in the strategic evolution of the practice, helping to ensure we remain at the forefront of modern veterinary care.###

We're looking for a dynamic, experienced vet who is:





Confident in farm animal work with a broad skill set across clinical and surgical cases. An inspiring and empathetic leader, capable of mentoring others and shaping team culture. Experienced with (or ready to step into) clinical governance, CPD planning, and performance development. Committed to excellence in patient care, client communication, and continuous improvement. Passionate about developing a thriving and modern rural practice.
