Job Description

1. Clinical Lead Quality and Patient Experience Lead on safety, complaints, audits, and service improvement. Be the clinical contact for quality matters and help champion great patient experiences. Ideal candidate will be looking to take a proactive leadership role in shaping how we deliver safe, high-quality care, that meets the needs of our diverse patient population.



You will:

Act as the named clinical lead for quality, governance, and patient experience across the practice. Provide clinical leadership in responding to complaints and significant events. Lead on clinical audit activity, helping identify areas for improvement and sharing learning. Support teams to embed a culture of continuous improvement and reflective learning.



Represent the practice in relevant quality forums (e.g., CQC preparation, PCN/ICB meetings where appropriate). Be a visible and approachable point of contact for colleagues with questions or concerns about quality and safety. Work closely with operational leads to ensure systems support patient-centred and safe care. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to own and lead this important area, with input from the wider team.



2. Clinical Lead Education Support education and training across the practice, enhancing our role as a high-quality training environment. Help define and lead the educational direction of our training practice. This role is about nurturing others while shaping a culture of lifelong learning and development.



You will:

Act as the named GP lead for medical education within the practice. Be a visible point of contact for trainees (medical students, FY2s, GP registrars) and their supervisors. Support the coordination of our Trainee GP Rotations, placements, inductions etc. Take ownership of the development of in-house education sessions e.g.



tutorials/PLT's/learning & development. Encourage a learning environment by identifying opportunities for peer learning, mentorship, and clinical discussion. Support colleagues (clinical and non-clinical) to access relevant learning and development opportunities. This role is suited to a GP who enjoys supporting others and their educational needs, and wants to lead our educational ethos forward in a structured, supported way.



3. Clinical Lead Proactive Care Lead our approach to anticipatory care, frailty, and long-term condition management. Work across teams to develop proactive and preventative services. This role offers a meaningful opportunity, to improve patient outcomes through system leadership.



You will:

Take leadership of our approach to frailty, long-term condition management, and proactive care planning. Work closely with our Home Visiting Team, Nursing and Pharmacy colleagues, and PCN Care Coordinators. Help develop and embed clinical pathways that support preventative care and early intervention. Be the point of contact for staff seeking guidance or escalation related to proactive care and complex patients.



Monitor population health trends and work with the team to identify 'at-risk' cohorts. Take ownership of personalised care approaches and coordinate input from across the multidisciplinary team. Link with PCN and ICB colleagues where necessary. This role is ideal for a GP who is ready to take the next step into Clinical Leadership and take ownership of a specialist area within the practice.



Candidates invited to interview will be asked to prepare a short presentation outlining why they are interested in leading this area, how they would approach the role, and their reflections on the key challenges currently facing general practice and the wider NHS.
