A leading mental health service provider in Birmingham is seeking an exceptional
Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist
to manage a team of occupational therapists, assistants, and activity workers across multiple inpatient and residential recovery services.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and dynamic professional with a passion for working with individuals with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses. The role offers a mix of clinical leadership, team development, and direct client care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional leadership and management to a multi-site occupational therapy team.
Manage a small clinical caseload, including assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
Deliver and oversee occupational therapy assessments and therapeutic group/individual programmes tailored to client recovery.
Ensure all therapy interventions are evidence-based, regularly reviewed, and aligned with the individual needs of service users.
Utilise the Model of Human Occupation Screening Tool (MOHOST) as the core assessment framework.
Contribute to multidisciplinary team planning, risk management, and recovery-focused interventions.
Act as a senior professional voice within the integrated care teams across sites.
Promote person-centred, least-restrictive, and recovery-oriented care.
Service Settings:
Montague Court (Edgbaston):
18-bed male long-term complex care inpatient unit.
Dartmouth House (Handsworth Wood):
16-bed male long-term complex care inpatient unit.
Orchard House (Erdington):
8-bed residential step-down service.
Stanford Court (Highgate):
New 20-bed inpatient service with 15 enhanced care beds and 5 recovery flats.

Requirements:
HCPC registration
as an Occupational Therapist (active and in good standing).
Experience managing or supervising clinical teams within mental health services.
Demonstrated knowledge of occupational therapy models, particularly MOHO.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong commitment to recovery-based practice and service-user involvement.
Ability to work core hours, Monday to Friday (09:00-17:00).
