We are seeking a dedicated and experienced physiotherapist or occupational therapist to assume the position of Clinical Lead, within the acute Orthopaedic setting at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated individual to provide leadership and drive innovation across the Allied Health Professional Orthopaedic team. The primary base for this role is York.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and multi-professional colleagues throughout the Trust to ensure the highest standards of patient care. The post offers the chance to shape service delivery, work effectively within both local and regional teams, and lead improvements across physiotherapy and occupational therapy pathways in the orthopaedic context.
This role provides the opportunity to enhance clinical expertise in surgical services, while developing competencies across all Four Pillars of Practice. A significant focus is placed on leading clinical transformation initiatives and improvement projects within the service. Candidates will also have opportunities to engage in research, disseminate findings, and contribute to education within their areas of clinical expertise. Additionally, there is an expectation to support the learning and development of other Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and multidisciplinary team members through training, supervision, and reflective practice.
To provide visible clinical leadership across clinical service, within surgical specialities, which includes autonomously managing a complex caseload, evaluation of quality and service performance and creating a culture of learning and development.
To use evidenced based highly specialist skills to manage a complex caseload, which includes the specialities of Orthopaedics.
Provide training/support to staff, patients and their carers.
You need to be resilient and able to manage and prioritise your caseload whilst supporting the work and development of the team.
The department is well established in facilitating the training of Therapy students and staff are involved in delivering a variety of rolling training programmes for other health care professionals across the Trust.
You will be part of a supportive senior Orthopaedic therapy leadership team, including other clinical leads across site, team manager, as well as senior operational manager and professional lead.
