Job Summary



We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This role requires a deep understanding of mental health issues and the ability to support patients through their recovery journey. You will work collaboratively with the Head of Service MHLDA and MTD teams to develop and implement care plans tailored to each patient's needs.

Duties



Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and needs. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans in collaboration with patients and their families. Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and monitoring their effects. Offer emotional support and therapeutic interventions to patients in crisis. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality at all times. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Participate in team meetings, contributing insights on patient progress and care strategies. Stay informed about the latest developments in mental health care practices and guidelines.

Experience



A valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Mental Health Nurse is essential. Previous experience in a mental health setting is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to mental health conditions. Proven ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professional boundaries. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and colleagues. A commitment to ongoing professional development in mental health nursing practices.

Ideal Candidate :



Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in relevant clinical area (LDA and MH Complex Care)
1+ year managerial experience in a large size organisation
Evidence of service change leadership
Experience teaching HCAs, students, or colleagues

Knowledge & Understanding



Strong knowledge of clinical governance and medical management systems
Knowledge of auditing processes
Experience with tracheostomy care
Understanding of recruitment and training in clinical roles
Awareness of competencies

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 25,000.00-35,000.00 per year
