Job Description

The Clinical Lead Nurse is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care within the nursing home. This role ensures that residents receive safe, effective, and person-centered care while supporting and guiding the nursing team. The Clinical Lead Nurse acts as a role model, mentor, and leader, promoting best practices and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

Lead and supervise the nursing team to ensure excellent standards of care. Provide clinical expertise and guidance in complex care situations. Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and medication management.

Resident Care

Ensure residents' physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Promote dignity, independence, and wellbeing in all aspects of care. Respond promptly to changes in residents' health conditions.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

Maintain compliance with CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards and other regulatory requirements. Conduct audits, monitor clinical outcomes, and implement improvement plans. Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of care activities.

Team Development

Mentor, coach, and support nurses and care staff. Organize training sessions to enhance clinical skills and professional development. Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment.

Communication & Collaboration

Liaise with residents, families, GPs, and external healthcare professionals. Act as a key point of contact for clinical queries and concerns. Promote effective teamwork across all departments.
Qualifications & Skills

Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with valid NMC registration. Proven experience in a senior nursing role, ideally within a care home or similar setting. Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills. In-depth knowledge of clinical practices, safeguarding, and regulatory standards. Ability to work under pressure and make sound clinical decisions.
