This is initially a development role to better integrate Effective Consulting into the curriculum in Years 4 & 5 with responsibility for ensuring the delivery of the Effective Consulting intended learning objectives and alignment with the GMC's outcomes for graduates, Bristol Medical Schools Domains and Helical themes, the UK Council for Clinical Communication's (UKCCC) consensus statement, and UK Clinical Reasoning in Medical Education Group's (CReME) UK consensus statement.
What will you be doing?

Mapping of where and how intended learning objectives (ILOs) relevant to Effective Consulting are currently delivered in Years 4 and 5, and how these map to the GMC Outcomes for Graduates, and the Medical Licensing assessment.
Working with relevant Year 4 and 5 academic leads, Academy teams, CMOP lead, short clerkship leads and GP leads as well as other interest holders to continue to develop Effective Consulting ILOs relevant to years 4 & 5 which build on and advance the student learning in the early years
Translation of EC learning outcomes into high quality educational activity in Years 4 & 5
Working with relevant colleagues to develop teaching and learning resources to support the Effective Consulting discipline across years 4 & 5
Working with the assessment team to ensure assessment of Effective Consulting, particularly contributing to the medical licensing assessment (MLA) .
Working with the Health Equity and Justice (HEJ) team and other colleagues to support decolonisation and reduce ablism within the clinical curriculum
Working with the academies and CTFs to facilitate parity of Effective Consulting teaching across all academy sites in Years 4 & 5
Feedback and evaluation of Effective Consulting teaching and learning in Years 4 & 5
The representation of Effective Consulting in Years 4 & 5 within the medical school, and to external organisations

You are a clinician with a passion for clinical communication. You should be keen to define the best in clinical communication and work out how best to convey that vision to our clinical years medical students across primary and secondary care. You should have direct experience of teaching our students in EC and be familiar and ready to champion COGConnect locally. You should relish the opportunity to innovate in both delivery and assessment. You should be ready to embrace the new approaches afforded by AI.
