Opportunity Overview:

SBW Law, an award winning and well-regarded law firm in Liverpool that is seeking to expand its clinical negligence team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Fee Earner, Advanced Paralegal, or Newly Qualified Solicitor with demonstrable experience in clinical negligence to join a supportive and growing team.

The role will be office-based in Liverpool and will involve handling a caseload of low-value clinical negligence files from inception to settlement or litigation.

The Role:

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of pre-litigated and litigated low-value clinical negligence matters. This includes liaising with clients, experts, counsel, and third parties, as well as preparing legal documentation and negotiating settlements.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of low-value clinical negligence files independently. Assess and investigate claims, including reviewing medical records and obtaining expert evidence. Draft letters of claim, witness statements, and court documents. Communicate effectively with clients and other parties throughout the life of the case. Ensure compliance with pre-action protocols and court deadlines. Work within a busy and collaborative team, meeting internal targets and service standards.

Candidate Profile:

You will be a Clinical Negligence Fee Earner, Advanced Paralegal or NQ Solicitor. Experience managing or assisting on clinical negligence matters is essential. Strong understanding of the clinical negligence pre-action protocol. Comfortable working independently and managing your own files. Excellent communication and client care skills. Strong drafting and case management skills.
