Job Description

We are seeking a talented Clinical Negligence Lawyer (2+ years PQE) to join our specialist legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with developing expertise in clinical negligence to handle a rewarding caseload, provide high-quality legal advice, and progress their career within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:




Manage a varied caseload of claimant clinical negligence claims under supervision, including matters relating to misdiagnosis, surgical errors, and delayed treatment. Provide clear, timely, and empathetic advice to clients, explaining legal processes and options in a client-friendly manner. Assist senior solicitors with complex, high-value claims, including case preparation, document drafting, and instructing medical experts. Draft and prepare pleadings, witness statements, and settlement documents. Engage in settlement negotiations and support representation at court and mediation. Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring they are regularly updated and supported throughout the claims process. Stay up to date with relevant case law and developments in clinical negligence. Ensure all case handling complies with professional, regulatory, and procedural standards.

Requirements and Attributes




2+ years PQE with experience in clinical negligence or strong litigation/personal injury background with a desire to specialise in this area. Solid understanding of civil procedure and claims processes. Strong drafting and research skills, with keen attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and experts. Ability to manage a busy caseload while working to deadlines. Empathy and client-focused approach, with sensitivity in dealing with vulnerable or distressed clients. Team player, with willingness to learn and develop under supervision. Motivation to progress career and contribute to the growth of the department.
