This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist wishing to develop their clinical skills in paediatrics.As a key member of the paediatric multidisciplinary team, you will gain experience in paediatric intensive care, paediatric congenital heart disease, paediatric cardiorespiratory surgery and paediatric respiratory medicine including cystic fibrosis and asthma.This role would suit individuals with a keen interest in paediatric cardio-respiratory medicine and is a fixed term maternity cover post. The department is committed to the development of its staff.Main duties of the jobProvide a safe, efficient and high-quality clinical pharmacy service to paediatric inpatients and outpatients by supporting a seven day a week clinical service at the Royal Brompton Hospital, including Sundays and Bank Holidays.Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and meetingsDeliver safe, efficient and cost-effective use of medicines within paediatrics, by the provision of education and training, procedures, protocols, and medicines usage information.Monitor and audit medicines related risk in line with local and national guidelines and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in reducing and managing such risk.About usYou will work within a well-respected, proactive multidisciplinary team within paediatrics at the Royal Brompton Hospitalwith opportunities to work at other sites within GSTT.The paediatric service at the Royal Brompton Hospital within is a tertiary referral centre for children with cardio-respiratory disease and comprises of the subspecialties: respiratory medicine (including cystic fibrosis), cardiology and Paediatric Intensive Care.   • Completed or working towards post graduate diploma, must have certificate
  • Vocational Master's Degree in Pharmacy followed by completion of one year pre-registration training and experience.

  • Considerable post qualification NHS hospital Pharmacy experience
  • Ward pharmacy and up to date general clinical pharmacy experience
  • Relevant experience in delivering pharmaceutical service to paediatric patients
  • Demonstrated experience of multidisciplinary team (MDT) working
  • Previous assessable experience of participation in audit
Desirable
  • Experience of delivering training to pharmacy staff and/or other healthcare professionals
  • Experience of managing others in an NHS pharmacy
  • Experience of direct patient consultations
