Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the 999 Clinical and Quality team at London Ambulance Service. As a Clinical Quality Support Manager you will play a key role in ensuring our team provides safe and effective care. You will do this by supporting the team to learn from patient safety incidents, managing risks and engaging with patients who have received care from our service. In this role you will support education, development of procedures and policies, and quality improvement. A key part of the role will be to work collaboratively with other teams in 999 Operations. We are looking for an individual that is passionate about improving patient care and share our core Trust values of Caring, Respect and Teamwork.

As a Clinical Quality Support Manager in 999 Operations you will:



Provide specialist support, advice and guidance to the 999 Operations leadership and management team on the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), Just Culture and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements



Be a learning response lead for patient safety incident investigations



Attend/chair internal and external meetings and ensure that information presented is accurate and comprehensively prepared, sharing information as appropriate



Produce high-level reports identifying trends and areas for improvement



Act as a role model for staff



Monitor performance against defined targets e.g. case management timelines ensuring action is taken where appropriate



Manage internal governance and assurance processes to ensure that the service complies with external regulatory requirements, including the Care Quality Commission, NHS England, and risk management standard



Maintain systems of internal control that support those of the LAS's Trust-wide systems, including managing the local risk register along with establishing and maintaining a local assurance/compliance framework



Represent LAS at relevant external meetings



Deputise for the 999 Operations Senior Clinical Lead at designated meetings as required
