The post will be based at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, but is a cross-site role which will involve weekly working at Whipps Cross and Newham Hospitals as well.Main duties of the jobThe Clinical Research Assistant will be a point of contact for participants and health professionals. The role will involve the identification of potential participants, providing. Study specific training will be provided. • Current certificate in ICH-GCP
• Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent

• First honours degree in healthcare in science related subject

• Recent experience of dealing with the public on a regular basis

• Recent experience of working in a research environment.
• Recent experience of working as a Health Care assistant or in a healthcare related role
• Experience of using electronic case report forms in clinical trials.
• Recruitment of and/or interaction with study participants to clinical trials

• Knowledge and understanding of ICH GCP, other research governance regulations and guidance and associate good clinical practice
• Knowledge of research methodologies and current national systems and structures for the approval, management and monitoring of clinical research in the NHS
• Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
• Knowledge of web-based applications
• Understanding of NHS business and administrative processes

• Understanding of patient and data confidentially procedures

• Knowledge & experience of MS Office applications especially Excel
• Numerate with advanced IT skills (MS Office 2003 and above - Access, Excel and PowerPoint
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels
• Able to handle sensitive and/or confidential information
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

• Phlebotomy skills
• Sample collection and processing
