Lancaster Medical School is seeking to appoint a Clinical Skills Manager at 1.0FTE, less than full time and job share candidates are welcome to apply. Part time and job share options are possible for the right candidate.
You will need to be able to prioritise your workload and work under pressure whilst developing and maintaining mutually beneficial working relationships with the undergraduate medicine (MBChB) programme team, internal and external stakeholders including our partner NHS trusts.
Excellent organisational skills and experience of clinical skills teaching (including physical examination skills) are essential.
You will be a registered healthcare professional on an agenda for change contract (e.g., nurse, allied health professional). You must have a licence to practise and have extensive experience in clinical settings which support and compliment the curriculum.
You will be responsible for teaching first year medical students across a range of clinical skills, with a focus on the clinical examination of key body systems, to help prepare them for early clinical experience, you will also facilitate small group teaching, simulation and lecture-based sessions.
You will manage a state-of-the-art simulation and clinical skills facility, including a 9-bed clinical skills lab and an 8-bed mobile simulation teaching unit. You will be supported by a clinical skills classroom assistant and visiting colleagues from partner NHS organisations.
