Job Description

Band 6 Speech and Language therapist to work in the Community Brain Injury Team (CBIT).

The Community Brain Injury Team provides high-quality neuro-rehabilitation to address the physical, psychological and social consequences of brain injury.



The speech and language therapy postholder will work embedded within CBIT to provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment and intervention to optimise the communication of the service users. Colleagues will be an occupational therapist (team lead), physio, psychologist, rehab worker and admin support.



Applications are welcomed from staff currently employed by other NHS Trusts on a part-time basis. You may work across two Trusts, subject to the condition that your total aggregate working hours across both employers do not exceed the standard full-time working week of 37.5 hours. We will require you to work 15 hours with us though.



To provide expert speech and language therapy assessment and

rehabilitation to service users of the Community Brain Injury Team (CBIT)

To provide a consistently high standard of goal-orientated treatment

programmes for patients with complex neuro-rehabilitation needs.

To ensure excellent communication and guidance to the clinical team,

patients, carers and families on the communication needs of the person to optimise their recovery and function.
