About the Role

We are seeking a

Senior Specialist Speech & Language Therapist

to join a multidisciplinary team supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries and other neurological conditions such as Huntington's disease, Parkinson's, and multiple sclerosis. This role focuses on delivering expert speech and language therapy (SaLT) within a holistic, person-centred approach to rehabilitation.

You will work with individuals and their families to help them regain essential communication and swallowing abilities, supporting their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Work as an autonomous Speech & Language Therapist within a multidisciplinary team. Assess communication needs and provide tailored intervention and rehabilitation plans. Support individuals and their support networks in overcoming barriers to communication. Manage dysphagia cases under supervision from the Clinical Lead SaLT. Deliver training to staff and families to promote understanding and consistency of care. Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and prepare professional reports. Contribute to ongoing service development and quality improvement initiatives.

About You

Degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Registered with the HCPC. Achieved Dysphagia Competencies. Minimum of 18 months' post-qualification experience within neurological or rehabilitation settings. Strong knowledge of SaLT models and interventions related to acquired brain injury (e.g., cognitive communication, social communication, communication partner training). Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Passionate about delivering person-centred care and continuous improvement.
