We are excited to be advertising for a clinical team manager, based within the North Devon locality.
You will provide the day to day operational management of the provision of care and treatment within the Physical and Sensory clinical pathway, which consists of a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists and speech and language therapists. You will provide specialist clinical interventions and advice as required to the occupational therapists within the pathway.
You will manage effective operational delivery of the service in close collaboration with the Occupational Therapy Clinical Specialist and other senior clinicians and clinical lead and to have supervisory skills and be able to hold a small caseload, working across the different environments such as home, schools and clinics.
Provide effective collaborative leadership and day to day operational management of the clinical team.
Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of evidence based clinical care .
Ensure the service is delivered in partnership with other clinical pathways within the locality, health specialties and partner organisations.
Ensure the service is delivered in partnership with children, young people and their parents/ carers, ensuring their active participation is facilitated.
In partnership with the Operations Manager, ensure that clinical and non-clinical risks within the pathway are identified and managed effectively.
To maintain systems to monitor demand and maintain optimal clinical capacity within the team.
Work collaboratively with other leaders (professional, clinical and operational), to maintain excellent clinical standards and safety.
Ensure clinical provision in the pathway is delivered to meet key performance targets.
Provide supervision, operational management and support to clinicians , to understand and follow HR policies and procedures, ensure staff wellbeing and development and adopt a collaborative approach to engage staff.
Attend, participate and chair relevant meetings, adapting communication to meet the needs of others.
To deputise for the Operations Manager as required.
Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) comprises an Alliance of NHS organisations working together to improve health outcomes for children and young people in Devon.
CFHD provides integrated care and treatment for children and young people across physical and mental health which are provided by Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust and Devon Partnership Trust. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure we deliver locality and county-wide based integrated access to all of our services, based on the i-Thrive Framework, in response to consultation with our service users and communities.
CFHD works closely with our local universities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where we support students in clinical training placements and in addition support our own staff to undertake post graduate training.
Our integrated care and treatment has been developed and refined in partnership with children, young people and their families/carers.

A professional qualification at degree level or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
Additional specialist training and qualification to post graduate diploma level or equivalent in supervision and/or leadership skills.
Knowledge of the provision of healthcare for
children, young people and families within the NHS.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, NHS policy and other national policy relating to children and young people and its implications for area of specialty.
Specialist skill in the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, highly complex, technical and/or clinically sensitive information to children/young people and families, carers and other professional
colleagues both within and outside the service, adapting your approach according to the individual needs of the audience.
The ability to form and maintain good working relationships with others in
multidisciplinary and inter-agency settings.
Daily operation of IT equipment.
