Job Description

Are you a highly skilled and visionary Cloud and Security Lead who is passionate about driving cloud security initiatives and the implementation of cyber security best practices across hybrid cloud infrastructure? This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cloud and Security Lead to help define and deliver the Charity's Cyber Security Programme.



Salary



The salary for this position is 71,000 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.



In line with our EDI strategy and Total Reward policy, we calculate our salaries based on benchmarking data across the charity sector. To ensure fairness for existing staff and new joiners, we do not offer salaries above the advertised rate.
Key Responsibilities


As a member of the IT team, the Cloud and Security Lead will develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practice standards across the Charity's on-premise and cloud infrastructure, focusing on ensuring business continuity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.

You'll be responsible for:


Designing, implementing, and managing cloud security solutions across various platforms (AWS, Azure etc. Identifying and prioritising technical debt, using automation to streamline processes, ensuring a structured approach to automation development and maintenance with a focus on cost optimisation and efficiency. Providing the Digital Development Team with security oversight and design guidance, and oversee DevSecOps initiatives. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle and ensure secure deployment of cloud-based applications. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


Experience as a Cloud Security Engineer or similar role, with knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud services, architecture, and security controls. Experience managing medium-scale on-premise and hybrid cloud environments, networking and complex, cross-functional security initiatives. Experience of implementing Infrastructure as code (IaC) (e.g. Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM etc). Experience using CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing. Experience with Git and version control. Experience with containerisation (e.g. Docker etc). Experience using scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Bash etc.). Experience with object-oriented languages (e.g. Python, Java, C++ etc.) Knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps practices and initiatives. Understanding of compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, SOC 2 etc.) and experience in navigating regulatory frameworks. Knowledge of networking concepts, such as subnets, firewalls, load balancers and VPNs. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders Benefits
