Due to continued growth, Securitas Technology is looking to recruit two apprentices to join the Engineering Team. This opportunity offers a clear path for growth and development within the organisation.

The successful candidates will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the fire and security industry, including installation, maintenance, and repair.



Apprentices will work alongside experienced engineers and attend Skills for Security training centres five times a year to support their development.

Wage:

For this position, the successful candidate will be paid 12.21 per hour.

Fire and Security Engineer / Technician

Installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems. Potential to specialise in a particular area (e.g., fire systems) or work across multiple disciplines.

Senior Engineer / Lead Technician

Leading larger installation or service projects. Providing mentoring and support to junior staff and apprentices.

System Designer or Estimator

Designing bespoke fire and security systems tailored to site-specific requirements and industry regulations. Preparing quotes and project plans for new system installations.

Commissioning Engineer

Responsible for the final setup, testing, and handover of fire and security systems. Ensuring all systems are compliant with relevant standards and fully operational.

Compliance and Inspection Officer

Carrying out audits and system inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards such as BS 5839 and BS EN 50132. Advising on necessary upgrades or improvements.

Project or Site Manager

Overseeing system installations from start to finish. Managing project timelines, budgets, client communication, and team coordination.

Entry requirements

Must be 17 years of age or older. Must not have a criminal record, due to security clearance requirements. Must hold a full, clean UK driving licence. Must reside within 20 miles of the advertised postcode.

Training to be provided



Apprentices will work towards the Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard, a nationally recognised qualification in the industry.



Training will be delivered by Skills for Security through block release at their Warrington Training Centre. Apprentices will attend the centre for one week every eight weeks.



During these training weeks, apprentices will be required to complete all allocated tasks and assignments. In addition, they will need to gather relevant site-based evidence to support and supplement their studies.



Things to consider



This is a 36 month apprenticeship, full commitment is needed during this time.
