They also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank. Our multi-disciplined teams include DevOps Engineers, IT Architects, Front and Back End Developers, Infrastructure specialists, Cyber experts, as well as Project and Programme managers.

Overview:




This role is responsible for implementing the strategy of the Cloud Economics & FinOps Commercial Team across all aspects of Financial Management relating to Cloud Consumption (external and internal) and FinOps Commercial Management. Ensuring that implementation will deliver demonstratable benefits across Technology.

Key Accountabilities:





Implementation of the Cloud Economics and Commercial strategy across Technology and Business, where appropriate Act as the evangelist for Cloud Economics & FinOps Financial Operations and promote adoption of Financial Operations principles and best practices within the organisation Partner and collaborate with members of the Technology Exco, CIO's and GBGFs to maximise effectiveness of the Cloud Economics & FinOps Commercial Team to deliver against HSBC's Financial Operations strategy and establish industry best practices for Cloud Economics and FinOps commercial management Deliver strategic initiatives, business cases, that have a financial benefit on Cloud Consumption Implement and embed the forecasting of cloud costs strategy and share trends in cloud spend/consumption to benefit Technology and future Financial Operations Empower value streams, platforms and the business, where appropriate, to take accountability of their individual cloud forecasts and budgets Develop and drive the implementation of guidance and teaching aids for budget owners, business and technical teams so they understand how best to track and manage cloud spend against their budget Develop and drive the Marketplace purchases process, across all 3 CSP's, working closely with Procurement, the GBGFs and the CSP's Partner with value streams, platforms and the business, where appropriate, to develop and drive cloud spend management and governance, promoting best practices in forecasting and budgeting Deliver cloud talks to upskill wider technology on cloud spend management and cost transparency for Public Cloud.

Essential Skills and Experience





Strategic experience of programme and portfolio management within a large enterprise level organisation is essential Extensive demonstrable experience with Cloudability or similar tools Strategic knowledge and experience of core financial principles and practices (including Capex vs. Opex, P&L, burn rates, forecasting, etc.) In depth exposure with the major cloud providers and knowledge of their product offerings (AWS, GCP, Azure, Alicloud) Experience of Cloud Financial Operations concepts and best practices (Certified FinOps Practitioner) would be ideal but not essential Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities; the power to motivate, influence and engage audiences Globally at all levels and the ability to make the complex simple and inspire action through analytics and insight Develop and maintain relationships with GBGF partners to ensure support for the delivery of the Cloud Economics & FinOps strategy Experience working with GBGF delivery partners to mobilise implementation programmes needed to deliver financial benefits across the organisation Must have experience of working with Cloud Vendors, understand contractual agreements within agreed commitments and speed, contractual changes and re-negotiations Strategic knowledge of the financial implications of Cloud services and consumption options
