Club Business Development Officer


To provide clubs with support with business planning, risk planning, governance issues and culture using knowledge, best practice, thematic expertise. Working closely with committees within the rugby clubs, to understand what matters to them and where Club Development support can make the biggest difference.

31,000 per annum

Location:

Hybrid working with an expectation that you will work in an agreed WRU office/location at least three days per week.

Hours of work:

35 hrs per week across a 7/7 pattern

The Person




Experience & Knowledge

Lived experience or working knowledge of the needs and priorities of community rugby clubs across Wales. Understanding of financial planning, ability to analyse accounts and numerical data and to identify and manage risk Experience of supporting volunteers in a rugby club environment Experience of presenting to, and speaking in front of large groups

Skills & Qualifications

Planning and Organising Decision Making Professionalism and Integrity Self-Awareness Relationship Building and Stakeholder Management Influencing Written and Verbal Communication Reporting and Analysing Data Ability to communicate and work through the medium of Welsh is desirable Excellent IT Skills, specifically Microsoft package

The Role




Key responsibilities, tasks & actions:

Supporting clubs to ensure that they are resilient, sustainable and thriving environments.
+ Providing best practice education and examples of how a community rugby club should be run.
+ Ensuring clubs are funding ready and have all required information to be able to accept multiple income streams in line with the One Wales WRU Strategy
+ Ensure that clubs have strong club development plans / club improvement plans to enable them to grow through the club investment model
+ Ensure that clubs have all the supportive solutions required to meet their required standard as part of the new club investment model
+ Liaising with Key Stakeholders to identify opportunities for rugby clubs
+ Supporting clubs to ensure that they are compliant with relevant regulations and policies

Valid UK driving licence is desirable as a business needs vehicle is allocated to the role This role is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and reviewed regularly in line with regulated activity and policy requirements Exceptional passion and motivation to develop innovative approaches to increasing income for Community Club.
