The Royal British Legion, Clifton Branch is looking for a reliable person with previous bar experience and experience of running a social club. We are based in Clifton, Nottingham. We have two bar areas, one is the social club which is open every lunch time, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings with either bingo, quiz night or at the weekends an artist. The other bar is based in the function room which can be hired out for parties. The Club Manager provides a central point of contact for administration, information and communication. It is the Club Manager who initially deals with all correspondence and communications and is key to the smooth running of a club. The Club Manager also provides a link between members, potential members and external organisations, e.g. Local contractors, suppliers etc. The Club Manager should report to the Club Committee.

DUTIES OF THE CLUB MANAGER
To act as a main point of contact for the club, maintain records and information in relation to queries, all administration and communications.
To deal with the day-to-day running of the club including all internal and external correspondence, arranging deliveries, Health & Safety inspections etc.
To liaise with club committee members to ensure all appropriate administration is in place.
To have a knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of other club committee members.
Manage Rotas, Annual Leave, Absence and training for all staff
Enthusiastic with a good knowledge of the club and people within it.
Be an excellent communicator with good verbal, written and IT skills.
Have good administration skills, including word-processing and excel.
Have excellent organisational skills.
Have the ability to maintain confidentiality
Liaise with external stock controller to ensure correct measures are being followed for accurate stock control
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and maintain an effective bar service with an emphasis on high quality, fast and efficient service. Maintain appropriate records relating to wastage, consumption, ordering and returns
Comply with licencing regulations relating to the club and service of alcoholic beverages and conduct staff training sessions accordingly
Ensure cash procedures are adhered to and strictly monitored, including preparation and calculation of beverage bills and cashing up of tills
Report & liaise regularly with the Chairman of the Committee regarding performance and ensure they are informed of any relevant issues
Develop and maintain professional relationships with inhouse guests and external customers
Ensure that beverages are served to the correct specification i.e. that correct measures are observed, and correct glasses are used
Implement and ensure Health, Hygiene & Safety Policy is always met
Ensure all areas are clean and hygienic, making sure cleaning Rota's are adhered to and appropriate records are kept
To ensure good cellar management included, but not limited to, beer-line cleaning, safe gas and barrel
Willingness to work during evenings and weekends in accordance with the Clubs needs
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment while maintaining a constant professional attitude
Ability to use own initiative while handling tasks and complaints
Increase Private event bookings and drive business growth
