The Royal British Legion Buckie is seeking a responsible, proactive and personable Club Steward to oversee the day-to-day running of our Club. You will act as the Club Premises Manager in accordance with Scottish licensing legislation, supervise staff, manage bookings and events, and ensure smooth and legal operation of the premises.
This is a hands-on, community-facing role requiring strong leadership, organisation, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Club Premises Manager under the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005
Manage daily bar operations, stock control and cash handling
Supervise bar staff and manage rotas
Oversee hall bookings and coordinate with the Events Team
Promote events via social media and Club channels
Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment
Liaise with Finance, Buildings and Committee teams
Handle incident logs, licensing records and compliance duties
Requirements:
Experience in bar, venue or hospitality management
Personal Licence holder (or willing to obtain*) Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Confident in using basic IT for admin and promotion
Flexible availability including weekends and evenings
Knowledge of licensing laws, stock management and H&S standards
Desirable:
Experience with event coordination or community clubs
Familiarity with veteran or ex-service communities
