Chobham Rugby is avibrant community sports club with a significant reputation across Surrey and a strong track record in hosting successful events. We require a full-time clubhouse Manager to oversee the front of house activities for members and guests through our bar and catering operations including the management of the club house environment. Being passionate about people and rugby for all is the key to our success.

REQUIRED DAYS & HOURS:

Appropriate to fulfil the role, which will include some evenings and weekends especially during the Rugby season. Up to 40 hours per week over a 5 day pattern

ROLE SUMMARY

: Our Clubhouse Manager will ensure the provision of a quality food and beverage offering with customer service at the foundation of the role, so that every member and visitor leaves with a smile on their face and takes the reputation of Chobham Rugby Club with them.

The clubhouse has room for 80 covers, comfortably seated for dining events, and can accommodate 100 at a squeeze. The main room and bar is recently refurbished with new ceiling and lighting to create atmosphere and improve acoustics. When the club diary allows we cater for private events utilising our outdoor space as well. Staff are mostly part time, but there is a Chef under the Manager's supervision who is on a more regular weekly hours arrangement. Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail is essential to be successful in the role.

Chobham Rugby aim to develop and manage the venue into a 7 day a week operation seeking new opportunities for growth. Responsibilities will include profit and loss accountability and revenue enhancement for all aspects of the Clubhouse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

:

Promoting and supporting Catering and Bar activities.

- To promote and actively market all clubhouse functions.

- Be an ambassador for the club's food and drink offer and a representative for the Club, to members and guests alike

- Lead from the front in training team members to deliver a quality customer experience

- Co-ordinating the overall delivery of clubhouse activities for members and guests

- Ensure the smooth running of functions and manage/develop the processes and procedures for such activities (e.g., tour fund raisers, tabs, cross charging, etc.).

To optimise the profitability, maintain margins and manage stock levels in line with policy and agreed budget.

To develop KPI indicators and reporting requirements to enhance the club's ability to monitor and manage the income streams.

Responsible for staff HR management - recruiting, training and maintaining a quality front of house team

- Maintain rotas to ensure suitable staffing levels for whenever the Clubhouse is operating

- Organise the necessary training and qualification of all staff in such matters of, but not exclusive to, hospitality, cellar management, food preparation and hygiene, first aid, fire safety, health and safety and ensure that reviews and records are updated and properly kept.

- To hold regular departmental meetings and ensure relevant product knowledge.

- To monitor the department payroll and roster accordingly as per the business needs.

- To maintain the upkeep of the clubhouse to include general minor repairs and cleaning.

Manage our maintenance contractors to support the successful delivery of services.

Maintain the building fabric in liaison with the Facilities Manager and manage all aspects of Health & Safety and Fire safety in the clubhouse.

To be responsible for all aspects of Clubhouse security, including its daily opening and closing ensuring the clubhouse and premises is opened and locked as required.

Ideally the candidate should have a Personal Licence and be competent in understanding the legal responsibilities of a Designated Premises Supervisor
