The School of Informatics invites applications for a Clusters and Systems Administrator within our Research and Teaching team.


The Opportunity:



Are you an experienced Linux systems manager with strong interpersonal skills and a keen interest in High Performance Computing (HPC)?


Are you looking to step into the fast-evolving world of GPUs and Machine Learning? Do you enjoy working with cutting-edge software across a range of disciplines and thrive on the challenge of learning emerging technologies?



We have an exciting opportunity within our Research and Teaching team as a Clusters and Systems Administrator that offers a diverse and engaging workload. In this role, you'll be directly supporting a cohort of PhD students -- from advising on their day-to-day hardware needs to designing and configuring high-end HPC systems.



This post is full-time (35 hours per week); fixed term for 5 years however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.



The salary for this post is

40,497 to 48,149

per annum.



Your skills and attributes for success:



Knowledge of Unix/Linux and a relevant programming/scripting language Knowledge of HPC/GPU systems Good Interpersonal skills dealing with support issues Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work accurately as a member of a team within the framework of clear precedent and defined policies.
