About CFO Services UK

CFO Services UK is an advisory firm dedicated to empowering the next generation of business leaders. We provide expert, on-demand CFO, and finance director services to ambitious Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and high-growth startups across London and the UK.

Our mission is to provide the strategic financial guidance and operational support that forms the bedrock of sustainable success. From fundraising and corporate finance to business transformation and ESG strategy, we offer bespoke services that are not just solutions, but catalysts for growth. We are the trusted partner our clients need to navigate complexity, seize opportunities, and achieve their vision.

The Opportunity: Build the Brand, Drive the Growth

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced

Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) / Marketing Director

to join our leadership team. This is a foundational role with a significant opportunity for impact. You will be the architect of our marketing function, responsible for building a powerful brand, creating a predictable pipeline of high-quality leads, and establishing CFO Services UK as the go-to thought leader in the SME and startup ecosystem.

This role is both strategic and tactical. You will develop the high-level marketing strategy while also being comfortable rolling up your sleeves to execute campaigns, create content, and analyse performance. You are not just joining a company; you are shaping its future.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing & Brand Strategy:

Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategy aligned with our business objectives and revenue targets. Define and refine our brand positioning, value proposition, and messaging to resonate deeply with our target audiences (SME founders, startup CEOs, investors). Own the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and demonstrating clear ROI on all marketing spend. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across all marketing channels, providing regular reports to the leadership team.

2. Demand & Lead Generation:

Design and manage integrated lead generation campaigns to build a robust sales pipeline, utilising digital and offline channels. Spearhead our digital marketing efforts, including SEO/SEM, LinkedIn marketing, email marketing, and paid advertising. Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with key players in the ecosystem, such as venture capital firms, private equity funds, accelerators, incubators, and law firms.

3. Content & Thought Leadership:

Create a world-class content engine that positions our partners as industry experts. Oversee the production of compelling content that addresses the pain points of our clients, including white papers, case studies, blog posts, webinars, and research reports. Translate complex topics (e.g., IPO readiness, ERP implementation, ESG compliance, RPA/GenAI in finance) into accessible and engaging marketing materials. Manage the company website and social media presence (particularly LinkedIn), ensuring they are powerful tools for brand building and engagement.

4. Events & Community Engagement:

Develop an event strategy (both proprietary and sponsored) to increase brand visibility and generate leads within the London startup and SME community. Represent CFO Services UK at industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows.

Who You Are: Required Skills & Experience

Proven B2B Marketing Leader:

Ideally 5+ years of marketing experience with a demonstrable track record of success in a senior marketing role.

Professional Services Expert:

Significant experience marketing B2B professional services, ideally within finance, accounting, legal, or management consulting.

SME & Startup Savvy:

A deep understanding of the challenges and motivations of SMEs and startups. Experience marketing to founders and C-level executives is essential.

Full-Stack Marketer:

Expertise across the full marketing mix, including brand, content, digital marketing (SEO, SEM, social), lead generation, and partnership marketing.

Content-Driven:

A natural storyteller with exceptional writing and communication skills, capable of translating complex financial concepts into compelling narratives.

Commercially Minded & Data-Driven:

You are obsessed with metrics, ROI, and connecting marketing activities directly to business growth.

Entrepreneurial Spirit:

A proactive, self-starting individual who is excited by the prospect of building a marketing function from the ground up in a fast-paced environment.

Hybrid (open to remote) and ideally based in or able to commute to London.

Bonus Points For:

An existing network within the London tech, startup, or VC/PE community. Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce). A degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.

What We Offer

A key role on the leadership team with a direct impact on the company's trajectory. The autonomy and resources to build a marketing function your way. A flexible, hybrid working environment that values work-life balance. The opportunity to work with some of the UK's most exciting and innovative companies.
