Job Overview



Makers is known for producing highly bespoke kitchens, furniture and architectural joinery. You will join our design team contributing to design development with responsibility for creating manufacturing-ready drawings, cnc programming and nesting files. The role requires working closely with the designers, cnc operators and fabrication team to ensure every detail is delivered to the highest standard.

Day to day, you will model bespoke joinery and fitted furniture in SolidWorks using the Swood add-on, produce detailed manufacturing drawings, cnc nesting and operating's files and coordinate with the workshop on scheduling, technical detailing and cnc operations. You'll work collaboratively with our in house designers and project managers, ensuring designs are both buildable and faithful to the client's vision. The role requires a strong understanding of kitchen and furniture manufacturing, as well as operational knowledge of our CNC router. Responsibilities



Collaborate with design and production teams to optimise machine programmes, creating, editing, and refining programmes, and interpreting complex 2D design drawings.

Conduct regular reviews of designs to ensure they meet company standards and client specifications.

You will determine machining requirements, tooling, and sequential operations to achieve the best results, whilst also assisting with machine setup and testing, and performing test runs.

Maintain a structured and up-to-date library of all CNC programs and setup sheets

Perform technical analysis to identify issues in design or functionality, proposing effective solutions to include value engineering solutions.

Recommend improvements to machining processes, tooling, and programming standards

Assist in the preparation of project reports and documentation as required.

Skills



Must be proficient in Solid Works, Swood CAM and Swood Nesting software.

Knowledgeable in kitchen and furniture design and manufacturing principles.

Knowledge of woodworking and joinery processes, including the machining characteristics of materials such as MDF, solid wood and laminates.

Experience operating CNC machining centres.

A good team player who is willing to go the extra mile when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 30,000.00-50,000.00 per year
