We are seeking a skilled CNC Grinder to join our modern toolroom facility. This is a key role responsible for producing high-quality press tooling to support our two on-site press shop operations. The position plays a critical part in ensuring that tooling meets the highest standards of precision, reliability, and quality in line with customer and regulatory requirements.
You will support the delivery of world-class manufacturing performance by providing expert grinding capabilities across both new and existing products--enhancing safety, quality, and delivery, while maintaining cost efficiency.
Your key responsibilities:
Program, set, and operate a range of CNC grinding machines with precision, working to fine tolerances as required by tooling specifications.
Produce high-quality press tooling that meets exacting standards and supports the performance of in-house press shop operations.
Take responsibility for all aspects of CNC and manual grinding, ensuring machines are maintained, calibrated, and operated safely and effectively.
Continuously improve grinding techniques and processes to optimise quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Development & Learning:
The post holder will be expected to develop their understanding of new technologies by undertaking training when requested.
Education / Training
Ideally qualified to HNC level in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Completed a recognised apprenticeship in grinding, precision engineering, or similar (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
Knowledge / Experience
Strong experience with CNC grinding machines and controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol).
Skilled in manual cylindrical and surface grinding.
Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software for CNC programming is desirable.
Strong understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance.
Proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
Solid awareness of workplace health & safety legislation
