Latham's Steel Security Doorsets LTD is expanding and seeking a skilled and motivated
Fabrication Operative
to join our dynamic production team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing manufacturer within the steel security doorsets sector, where you'll play a key role in producing high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate a variety of machines, including Press Brake, Guillotine, CNC Laser Cutter, Turret Punch (highly desired), and Mig/Laser Welding
Use workshop tools such as Pillar Drill, Band Saw, Spot Welder, Grinding & Linishing, and various hand tools to fabricate components according to specifications
Experiance with welding is desirable but not necessary.
Produce stock and custom items to meet customer specifications and high-quality standards
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Management Systems (QMS) to meet deadlines
Perform routine tests and checks to ensure all products meet required standards before dispatch
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations
Collaborate with team members to improve processes and resolve fabrication issues
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in operating at least one of the mentioned machines
Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and handheld scanners
Strong understanding of mechanical principles and ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
Experience with sheet metal fabrication techniques and lean manufacturing principles
Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards is advantageous
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality production
Good communication skills, able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday
6:00 am - 2:00 pm (37.5 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid break)
Requirements:
GCSE or equivalent qualification (preferred)
English language skills (required)
