CNC MACHINE OPERATOR

THE OPPORTUNITY
To support our ambitions at SBD, we are seeking a CNC Machine Operator to further support the cutting team in manufacturing market-leading strength products. Will be able to work as part of a team or autonomously and to contribute to cross-departmental collaborations. Your personality is important and finding a good cultural fit who can add value is high on our agenda when it comes to recruitment.
CNC Operator roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ability to follow production schedules and work to agreed deadlines.
Finding ways of working quicker and smarter wherever possible, having input in streamlining within the department.
Understanding how different materials behave during the process and require different cutting parameters.
Able to perform routine maintenance on both CNC and spreader equipment including regular cleaning, blade changes and sectional bed replacements and filter changes.
Loads feed mechanism by lifting materials into position.
Maintains specifications and conformity by observing cutting operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive and routine maintenance tasks; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Completing production logs where needed
Operating to the companies QMS and materials traceability SOP's.
Keen to expand your job knowledge through learning opportunities.
THE SKILLS
We invite applications from candidates who can demonstrate:
Competence and accuracy in all machining processes including work handling and own personal health and safety
Experience with lay ups and spreading of different fabrics to maximise yield and produce conforming pieces in line with production demands.
Excellent communication skills
Uses own initiative and is comfortable making suggestions for improvement
Able to work to deadlines
Strong teamwork
