Destec has a fully equipped machine workshop and always looking to invest with a wide selection of CNC lathes, vertical boring and milling machines with various control systems (Heidenhain/Mazak/Fanuc). Capacity on turning is up to 2 metres diameter by 1.5 metres high held on a ?1600mm chuck on our largest vertical machining centre. CNC milling machines have capacity up to 3metres long by 800mm wide or 2 metres by 1.4 metres and general-purpose machine tools enable the company to offer a versatile machining facility.

Destec Engineering Ltd is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team.

The role

We are looking for a time served CNC milling machinist to operate Mazak (Mazatrol control) machines.

On site training will be given and possible training at Mazak.

Must be competent to manufacture complete parts from drawings provided in a variety of exotic materials.

Key responsibilities

Set and operate CNC milling Machines. Maintain and monitor machine to make sure it functions properly Conduct quality checks and take responsibility for manufacture of quality products Adjust machine as needed for changeovers, different functions, or other varying needs of production Accurately perform production tasks, to tight deadlines Raise issues/problems promptly to a supervisor Consider health and safety in day-to-day activity (adheres to training and instruction given)

The candidate

Excellent attention to detail Comfortable working to fine tolerances Experience setting and operating cnc machines Reading and accurately interpreting engineering drawings and using them to set up machine and check parts Capable of reading and using micrometers, verniers etc Varied experience with machinery set up and operations Efficient, good work ethic, with general practical skills
The ideal candidate would be a time-served machinist with experience in producing high quality precision components in small batches. Ability to work from drawings.

Working hours are 37 per week.

Company sick pay.

Hours of work are 08:00-16:00 Monday-Thursday and 08:00-15:30 on a Friday.

Overtime when requested at an enhanced rate.

Salary Circa:- 33,700-45,000
