Here at Atlas Copco Deeside, we are looking for a Development CNC Machinist to join the R&D Team, responsible for developing and manufacturing a range of new and innovative prototype fastening solutions that shape the future of industries like automotive.
Roles and responsibilities
Collaborate with the product development team to develop and manufacture new and innovative prototype fasteners
Be competent in the safe use of specialist laboratory equipment, testing equipment and production equipment, specifically: CNC Swiss/Sliding head lathe, manual lathe and manual milling machines
Safely use chemicals and chemical handling equipment both in the lab and the production areas
Collaborate with other departments and work within cross functional teams to support the development and implementation of new fastener designs and contribute to a broad range of research and business objectives

You'll thrive if you are:
An experienced CNC machinist including manual turning/milling machines
Confident using quality and inspection equipment to verify part conformity
Able to use and carry out general maintenance on machine tools
Able to understand and interpret engineering/manufacturing drawing
Able to read and edit Fanus G-code
You might have experience in:
Manufacturing, production, automotive, or mechanical trades
Quality Management Systems (ISO9001 or IATF16949 or similar)
Manufacturing small precision components
Operating and programming sliding head lathes
Specifying and procuring suitable cutting tools
Using CAD/CAM packages; ideally GIBBS CAD/CAM (but training will be provided)
