Overall Purpose:
To operate CNC Machines ( EDM) in line with workload requirements, ensuring that all parts are machined to meet customer requirements and strict quality standards.
Full Training will be given to support the right candidate.
Salary
Job Type: Full-time
Basic: 14.71
Shift: 21% - 3.09 (three shifts)
Total hourly rate: 17.80
There is opportunity for an increase following comprehensive training regimes - salary uplift would be to 15.86 basic + shift premium of 21% - uplifted total of 19.19
Hours
37-hour contract - 3 shift pattern (morning, afternoon and night rotation)
Please note whilst training for the role hours of work will be -
08:00 - 16:25 Monday - Thursday
08:00 13:20 Friday
Key Responsibilities:
Operating CNC Machines, ensuring that parts are machined in accordance with the agreed method specification
Attain machine setting skills to enable machine set ups in line with Company requirements.
Understanding of engineering drawings, ensuring that fixtures are correctly aligned
Inspecting parts in line with quality procedures and taking any necessary, approved, action to resolve quality issues
Operating CMM machines to support inspection requirement.
Consistently achieving all targets (production, quality, housekeeping etc.), as set by the Cell Manager.
Adherence to all company policy's and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety.
Requirements for the position of the CNC Operator:
Previous experience in CNC EDM is advantageous but not essential.
Previous experience in CNC machining is advantageous.
Experience within an Aerospace sector is advantageous.
Ability to read engineering drawings
Able to self-inspect own parts using manual measuring equipment
Experience of using machinery is advantageous.

This holiday entitlement increases after 2 years to 27 days and after 10 years to 28 days.
